Welcome
to Grimm's! Here is a walk
through the build process. I'll try to give some detail about how
things were done or about new techniques or materials that I tried out.
If they worked for me, they can work for you too! This was a fun
project, a bit stressful as I had a lot to do and a little time to do it
in. I worked on this off and on for about three weeks at night -
maybe 2-4 hours a shot. I'd say I probably ended up with around 50 hours
in it so far.
Here are the pics for the fountain
scene. I went ahead and did thumbnails, so click the small pics to
open bigger ones. I'll explain what I can. Use the menu below to
conveniently jump around OR start on this page and keep going forward at
the end of each page.

This is the mock up I started with.
I cut the center out of the larger piece already. |
Here I had the first two pieces glued
in place. Epoxy. |
Mr. H.O. Guy checks things out as the
grate is added. |
Here, the basic fountain is done. |
I wanted that greenish patina that you
see on copper, so I used chalks to get a yellow, green look with a
little rust as well. |

The water is made from a piece of
fiber optic strand. I ten used envirotex to pour over the
strand and into the fountain. |
I added some lily pads and flowers
into the water and worked on some vegetation. |
Here's the final look. |

Well, all that's left is a little
scenery....
On to the last step!
