:: Narrow Gauge madness in all scales!  ::

This year was the 30th National Narrow Gauge Convention and since it was so close to home I decided we had to try and make it.  So we packed the Denali up and headed to my first NNGC!  This was also my first train related trip with Isabella, which made it even more exciting.  I ended up splitting my time between family and the convention and had a great time.  There was certainly an abundance of excellent modeling to be seen and the contest room was packed with amazing works of miniature art.  I got to see old friends from near and far and make some new ones.  I only made a few of the many home layout tours, but had a super time at each one.   My good camera was broken right before the convention, so I had to borrow my wife's "purse camera."  But, no worries, the models more than make up for the camera work.

 :: Bob Lenz ::

HO/HOn3 Colorado Western & Aspen Junction
Bob Lenz's layout was my first tour and it was great.  Check out Bob's scenery!  And everything was lighted for night operations too.

:: Herb Koenig ::

HO/HOn3 Cordite and Flat River
What an amazing layout!  Check out the replica of the tall bridge from the Georgetown Loop.

:: Herb Gilden ::

HO Hi-Sioux Southern
Herb likes to have fun with his layout and I had fun touring it.  Look for a Mary Kay Cadillac or two...

:: Vic Smith::

HO City Edge
It was a short visit to Vic's layout this time, but I got a few pictures of the updates on the impressive City Edge.

:: Eric Brooman ::

HO Utah Belt
I've drooled over pictures of the UB for years in Model Railroader, so it was a special treat to get to meet Eric and see his Utah Belt.  The trains and scenery were even better in person!

:: Ken Patterson ::

Most every modeler knows Ken's pictures from the many magazine covers, articles, catalogs, and ads he's done.  Ken has always been one of my favorite model photographers and it was excellent to meet him, see his workshop, and attend his clinic on photography.

:: Chuck Graham ::

HO/HOn3 D&RGW Fourth Division
Some very nice mountain modeling here.  Chuck was only partially done with scenery, but he had some very nice snow sheds and bridges already in.

:: Contest Models: Dioramas and structures ::

Here is a sampling of the amazing dioramas and structures - in every scale imaginable - in the contest room.  Have a look at what everyone brought...

:: Contest Models: Everything Else ::

From critters to large scale steam, cars to steam shovels, big bigger and biggest!  There was a bit of everything here - and it was all superb.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!!
