GIBSON LES PAUL STUDIO

 :: The Les Paul is my first guitar, bought from local hero Chris Hedman.  This is my workhorse guitar and I use it first and foremost when playing live.  It has unbelievable action and a super fast neck.  It's completely stock except for a couple of old DiMarzio pickups that will soon be replaced.  This guitar has amazing tuning stability and I drop it to D constantly.  Because of the great tuning stability I use this to play alternate tunings live.

:: Frets: 22
:: Body: Mahogany, carved maple top
:: Neck: (Set neck) Rosewood
:: Pickups: 2  DiMarzio Humbuckers
:: Strings: Ernie Ball .10-.52 Hybrid

BURNS BRIAN MAY SIGNATURE

 :: While the Les Paul is easily more playable, the tone from this guitar is hands down unbeatable.  Both clean and overdriven sounds are amazing.  The BM is a very versatile guitar and I use the trem constantly.  Tuning stability isn't bad with the zero fret.

:: Frets: 24  (with a zero fret)
:: Body: Mahogany
:: Neck: Ebony
:: Pickups: 3 custom Burns Tri-Sonics in series
:: 21 pickup combinations (with phase reverse switches)
:: Auto locking Grover Tuners
:: Floating Trem
:: Schaller Strap locks
:: Strings: Ernie Ball .10-.46

TY TABOR SIGNATURE

 :: Yamaha RGX-TT.  An amazing contemporary guitar.    Ty's double cut away slim design guitar is extremely comfortable to play.  Light!!  The volume knobs are even in the right place for easy swells and they are rubber coated.  The neck is slim (different foe me) and very fast.  Nice recessed cable jack too.

:: Frets: 22
:: Body: Basswood
:: Neck: maple
:: Pickups: Dimarzio; JB (w/ coil tap) and 2 hot rails
:: Sperzel tremlock hardware
:: Wilkinson locking trm
:: Schaller Strap locks
:: Strings: Ernie Ball .10-.52 Hybrid

TY TABOR SIGNATURE DROP 6

 :: Yamaha RGX-TT D6.  Just like the regular Ty signature except a baritone version.  The scale length is longer and the guitar has special strings that are tuned to B.  I'll often drop this to A for a thick King's X sound.  This guitar obviously has limited stage use, but is great for recording and coming up with songs in non-standard tunings.  You know the band will love it when I come in and have something written in drop c#!

:: Frets: 22
:: Body: Basswood
:: Neck: maple
:: Pickups: Dimarzio; JB (w/ coil tap) and 2 hot rails
:: Sperzel tremlock hardware
:: Wilkinson locking trm
:: Schaller Strap locks
:: Strings: Ernie Ball .10-.52 Hybrid

EPIPHONE ACOUSTIC

 :: This is my writing guitar.  I write a lot of songs and ideas with this axe.   And I need something to play Jewel songs on. Just kidding...  Anyway, some things just sound perfect on an acoustic - and while it's nothing fancy - the Epi does the trick.

:: EQUIPMENT ::

Overview of the studio desk.  I do most of my recording stuff on a Boss 8 channel digital workstation.  I also have an old Tascam that's great for laying ideas down on the fly. I used to use the Flextone IIXL live, but the new rack is now filling that spot.  None the less, the Line 6 will travel with me as a backup - because on the road you never know.... Here's the Line 6 and the board I use for it.  Line 6 did a great job with the board - very flexible; you can control presets or parameters on the fly. This is the second room overview.  I also collect movie props, so that's what you may see in some pictures...

Rack Contents
The New rack.  Heavy duty ATA case with a Mesa based tone powerhouse.  Everything is MIDI driven and controlled with a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI controller.  Boss V-Wah programmable wah is on right.   :: Korg DTR-2
:: Furman PL Plus
::TC Electronics G Major
:: Mesa Triaxis V2 w/ phat mod
Mesa Simul-class 2:90
My latest acquisition, a rare custom made Mesa 2x12 floor monitor.  I shouldn't have any problem hearing things with this baby... maybe a few back problems from lifting it though.  Mesa Traditional Recto Cab.  Equipped with Four Celestion Vintage 30's.Wired for Stereo or mono.   All cables are Monster Cables to preserve that great tone.

How could I forget the newest addition; the JAMBULANCE. The Jambulance is an 84 Custom Wheeled Coach Type I ambulance with a Chevy cab and 454 engine. It's a pleasure to drive and is perfect for hauling equipment!   Do the lights work...   why yes, they do.  The front end has extremely bright fog lights that help me avoid the Jambulance's main enemy - deer!   The scene lights are great for setting up for outside shows at night. The back is perfect for carrying around the rack and cabinet and all my other equipment, which won't fit in my car.  It's also perfect for those overnight stays as it's got heat/AC and full power in the back.  And a nice sleeping area.   I can fit most guitars in the exterior cabinets which are well sealed, carpeted, lighted, and have nice diamond plating on the doors.  Overall there is storage space galore.
